Mobile Health Team

In 2007-2016 our services included a mobile health unit consisting of one midwife and three assistants. The team visited villages in Takhmau and parts of Takeo. Pregnant women without access to health services were given regular checkups and received vaccinations, antenatal supplements and training on several topics. By examining the women at an early stage in their pregnancy the team can save lives with a few easy steps.

In addition to medical checkups all the women in the villages were given information about pregnancy related topics such as hygiene, childcare, nutrition and family planning. The team also informed them of their rights, about substance abuse and domestic violence as well as HIV/Aids.  The team reached over 1000 women per year.

Since the start of the project John Hatleskog has covered all costs related to the mobile health unit.

We are now looking into an upscale of this project and hope to offer the service in even more poor areas. We can do this by referring  the women to both private clinics and local hospitals.

The pregnant women get Tetanus immunizations throughout the pregnancy and the children will get vaccines after birth.

100% of received donations are allocated directly to the projects
